Calendula Tallow Cream

$25.00

I am very proud of this recipe because we grow the calendula ourselves. My daughter and I go out every day during the growing season and harvest the flowers together, our fingers covered in sticky, potent resin that smells warm and golden and alive. It is one of my favorite rituals of the year.

Calendula is a time-honored remedy and one of the most beloved herbs in herbalism. It soothes redness, relieves irritation, and supports skin repair, making it especially suited for delicate or sensitive skin. This golden flower tends to the ones who need the most care.  I find calendula to be one of the best herbs for both babies and new mothers. I reach for it when skin asks for something deeply gentle: diaper rash, cradle cap, sore nipples during nursing, or any patch of skin that is tired, inflamed, or in need of some extra kindness. (Always do a patch test on baby's skin first, even with gentle plants.) Calendula also supports the healthy movement of lymph through the body. It gently helps to nourish cells and clear away what doesn't belong.

100% recyclable/reusable 2 oz. glass jars. Shelf-stable up to 12 months.

Sourcing Matters:

Our ingredients are as local as possible. If we are not growing it or ethically foraging it ourselves, we source from people we love and businesses we trust. The tallow comes from a ranch in my community. The ranchers are my friends, and they raise happy organic, grass-fed cows who regenerate the soil. Please reach out if you’d like to hear more about our sourcing. It’s one of my favorite topics!

New and Improved Recipe

We’ve transitioned to using organic jojoba oil from Arizona in this formulation—because after years of working with olive oil, we’ve come to believe that jojoba is uniquely suited for skincare. Its structure closely resembles your skin’s natural sebum, making it incredibly compatible, deeply nourishing, and unlikely to clog pores.

Infused with whole herbs, our organic jojoba oil delivers the soothing and regenerative magic of plants, while enhancing the glide and absorption of our nutrient-rich grass-fed tallow. The result is a deeply moisturizing, fast-absorbing cream that leaves skin soft, balanced, and resilient.

We made this change because we believe in evolving with our craft—and jojoba oil offers a level of purity, performance, and skin harmony that’s simply unmatched.

Seasonal Offering

This is a limited-release item grown and harvested by my family in our back yard garden. The harvest was small this year, so it will only be available in 2 oz jars.

Tallow Benefits:

Tallow is uniquely compatible with human skin because of its rich fatty acid profile, which closely resembles the structure of our own sebum. It contains a harmonious blend of saturated and monounsaturated fats—including stearic, oleic, palmitic, and palmitoleic acids—that help:

✨ strengthen the skin barrier

✨ seal in moisture

✨ support repair without clogging pores.

We proudly and gently render all of our tallow from grass-fed cows and bison raised on regenerative pasture by friends in our community. It's slow skincare at its most elemental—nourishment rooted in relationship with the land.
